For a long time people went about using that red-tube-with-black-writing jar or tube of paw paw cream and thinking they were using something fantastic and natural; only to find out that it was made from a petrochemical base and contained only 3.9% paw paw! There are lot of ways to go about obtaining the benefits of paw paw balm without the drawbacks of petrochemicals.
Organic and Natural Paw Paw Balm For Kids
Petrochemicals are generally (think vaseline) a cheap product that doesn’t allow the skin to breathe and there are significant questions about the toxicity of such petrochemical products in personal care products.
We question whether petrochemicals in personal care products could be partly responsible or have some links to our rising rates of cancer globally. When we use them on our little ones they are even more concerning, as infant and child skin creates less oil than adult skin and can therefore absorb the chemicals more readily with less of a natural barrier. In addition little ones have smaller, less developed bodies that are not as good at flushing out these toxins if absorbed.
Petroleum Jelly is a moderate hazard (score 4) according to the EWG Skin Deep Database, and at the very least the footprint it’s production leaves on our environment is something I would rather avoid. Thankfully there are companies using alternatives that are free from petrochemicals as well as other worrying additives and synthetic toxins.
Our favourite organic paw paw balms
One of our fav’s is the Suvana Organic Paw Paw and Honey Balm because it is both Australian made and owned, and we love that it doesn’t have any added flavour at all; not even natural fragrances. Though it is not vegan, it is not tested on animals and does not contain products that have been tested on animals.
We are now also big loves of the recently released Little Innoscents Paw Paw balm too. The Little Innoscents paw paw balm is so cost effective at $7.95 for 50gms and it’s natural cherry/coconut scent is divine (if fragrances are your thing). This balm is also Australian made and owned. In addition to those good points, the balm plavix online uses a good 10% paw paw in their formu
lation, together with a base of sunflower and avocado seed oil, shea butter, calendula and beeswax in it’s ingredients; they are just luscious!
So it’s the Little Innoscents red tube or the Suvana yellow for a great paw paw balm 🙂 and both will rock your socks. Both are great for growing families and a must have in the nappy bag or car or both. Both can be used for soothing grazes, dry lips, chaffed cheeks and noses, sore cuticles and baby behinds. Many people use this balm for small patches of eczema or psoriasis and for little skin cracks. Organic, natural paw paw creams make for a great barrier cream against wind damage especially in the snow or colder weather and are a must have in our opinion for kids as well as Mums and Dads.
Striving for good health together,
